Do you use the photography network 500PX?  If so, be advised that it has been breached by hackers.  If you were a 500PX user on or before July 5, 2018, you are among the impacted users.

The company discovered evidence of the breach on February 8th, and overall, to this point, their handling of the issue has been admirable.

Linux users, beware of the security flaw known as "Dirty Sock" and identified as CVE-2019-7304.

This critical security flaw was discovered by security researcher Chris Moberly, who disclosed the details to the makers of the Ubuntu distribution last month.

In 2015, macOS Security Expert Patrick Wardle reported an almost shockingly simple method hackers could employ to get around the Mac Gatekeeper system, which is the first line of defense against malware. He simply bundled two executable files: One signed and one not signed.

America might run on Dunkin', but the company has just taken another big hit.  For the second time in recent months, hackers have gained access to an unknown number of DD Perks user accounts.

What makes this issue even worse is the fact that the hackers were able to breach the system in exactly the same way they did three months ago.

At one point or another, everybody has done it.  You open a browser and type in the URL of a site you visit frequently.  In doing so, your finger slips and you mistype it.  Sometimes, nothing comes of it except that you get an error message. Knowing that, increasing numbers of hackers have gotten into the habit of buying up domains that are slight misspellings of popular, mainstream brands.

Google has kept no secret of their plan to eventually put an end to their social media experiment, Google+.  In case you haven't been keeping abreast of the company's announcements where the service is concerned, be aware that it will be shutting down on April 2nd of 2019.

The closer we've gotten to that deadline, the more details we've gotten from the company about how the shutdown will go.

Recently, Marriott Hotels informed the world that they had been the victims of a massive data breach.  As it turns out, the breach was even more serious than was initially reported.

As the company has learned more from the ongoing investigation into the matter, they've been doing an admirable job at keeping the public updated, even if the details are cringe-worthy.

Marriott now has the dubious honor of having suffered one of the worst breaches in history.  Granted, the 500 million customer records recently stolen from the company pales in comparison to Yahoo's loss of nearly three billion customer records, but Marriott's number is certainly nothing to scoff at.

Are you one of the legions of Americans who run on Dunkin'?  If so, be advised that your DD Perks Reward Account may have been compromised.  The company reported that they were recently breached by a currently unknown third party, and that at least some customer information was compromised.
